Seef Lusail, which occupies an 18ha area along 2.3km of waterfront on the Arabian Peninsula, is a high-end, mixed-use development with retail shops, hotels, residential and cultural attractions. It is divided into two distinct areas to the North and South of the Lusail Plaza, both of which are high-density and pedestrian orientated spaces.

Gustafson Porter + Bowman’s landscape design for the area creates a distinct coastline that offers its visitors a variety of connections with land and water. We have terraced the waterfront; inputted cantilevering decks; connected floating pontoons; created seating steps and inserted raised planters. The overall concept changes the topography of the promenade in subtle ways while maintaining the integrity of the existing sea wall. The result is a dynamic waterfront which will entice people to explore the development and surrounding area.
